Crystle N. Alonzo, PhD, CCC-SLP

Dr. Crystle Alonzo is a certified SLP specializing in child language and literacy disorders. She is an assistant professor at San Diego State University and the director of the Comprehension Opportunities in Reading and Language (CORAL) Lab. Crystle’s work as an SLP in various settings with diverse clinical populations continues to influence her research aims. Specifically, her research is focused on advancing the understanding of comprehension models of language and reading to improve assessment and intervention practices for young children with developmental language disorder and dyslexia. This work is centered on accessibility, feasibility, and sustainability. Crystle is committed to reducing the research to practice gap by 1. building community-based researcher practitioner partnerships, 2. translating research for clinical practice, and 3. supporting scientists in dissemination and implementation work to improve services for these children.

Speech and Language Pathologist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst Kate Grandbois

Kate is a dually certified SLP / BCBA with 13 years of clinical experience working in private practice, outpatient clinics, outpatient hospital settings, and consulting to private schools and legal teams. She specializes in augmentative alternative communication, autism and associated disorders, language development, and integrating AAC into the educational/vocational programming of persons with behavioral needs. Kate Grandbois financial disclosures: Kate is the owner / founder of Grandbois Therapy + Consulting, LLC and co-founder of SLP Nerdcast.
