"Thank you for making this excellent, research-based learning opportunity that is both extremely accessible and affordable. This is the best kind of PD: it’s one hour at a time so I can learn and then have time to synthesize and apply. It provides information I can apply to my practice immediately; and I can listen and learn while I drive, fold laundry, etc. thanks for the research and resources!"

Dr. Leesa Marante is a licensed speech-language pathologist with 8 years of experience in the school setting. She found her passion for the school setting as a clinical fellow when working for Atlanta public schools. She also served elementary middle schools in both North Florida and Central Texas. She returned to Florida State University to obtain her Ph.D. in language and literacy after seeing a continued need for support in the schools. Broadly, her research interests are centered around improving the reading and writing outcomes of adolescents with developmental language disorders. However, most of her work is in providing school-based SLPs with adequate support to increase their job satisfaction and self-efficacy to provide effective, evidence-based practice to their students. Her dissertation work aimed to increase retention of SLPs in the school setting with implementation of a social support program designed to reduce stress and burnout symptoms. She is an active and contributing member in the field of speech-language pathology with publications, guest lectures, adjunct teaching and participation in both national and state associations.
