Course Description & Learning Objectives

Telepractice is an effective service delivery method for individuals with communication disorders. This presentation provided an overview of telepractice and specific resources were provided. Materials, behavioral strategies, accommodations, and team consultation approaches were addressed. Ideas to support client transfer of skills to a generalized setting were discussed.  This course was offered for .15 ASHA CEUs (Intermediate Level, Professional Area)

Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify three strategies to support student behavior when providing telepractice services.

  2. Learn about resources for speech and language activities that can be provided through telepractice.

  3. Identify online tools and features that can be used to improve student attendance and team communication through telepractice.

  4. Identify at least 3 methods to support transfer of skill into the general education setting.

Michelle Boisvert, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, ADHD-RSP is a Speech-Language Pathologist in Western Massachusetts who specializes in telepractice and the use of technology to support workload management. She is a published author and has presented at national and international conferences on clinical, technical, reliability and validity issues regarding telepractice for school-based services.
